House adaptation

Client: Oxford City Council

Project: Adaptations for improved disabled living

Department: Major Projects

Date of completion: September 2019

Budget: £285k

Client

OCC is a district council.

Requirement

The challenge was to adapt a council property with the requirements of a family with specific needs.

Solution

The adaptations had to take account of the specific needs of the tenant.

Results

The project refurbished and extended the existing bungalow to bring it up to modern living standards with higher levels of access for the tenant who uses a wheelchair. The result was that the project was successfully completed in-line with the project programme budget. The end-user moved into the property shortly after handover.

Feedback

“I’ve really appreciated how well this project has run and am extremely happy with the end result. ODS was very professional and their relationship with the subcontractor seems open and collaborative, the results of which were shown in the progress made on site. I’m impressed by the condition of the site and that there have been no H&S issues during the works.”
