Parking Scheme

Parking Scheme

Client: Oxford City Council

Project: Formation of 24 car parking spaces & 1 disabled bay, alterations to landscaping.

Department: Highways and Engineering

Date of completion: December 2019

Budget: £22, 5000

Client

Oxford City Council is the local district council serving the City of Oxford.

Requirement

Furlong Close housing estate is owned and maintained by Oxford City Council. It was built prior to the significant rise in car ownership and therefore parking was not considered in the original plans.

Solution

ODS created 25 extra parking spaces from existing grass areas in a SUDS (porous) block paving to meet planning conditions for drainage and installed bike hoops for cycle parking.

Results

24 additional parking spaces and 1 disabled bay was created. 10 bike hoops were also installed to budget and on time, a great achievement given the wet weather during construction.
