Lining a live and operational car park

Lining a live and operational car park

Client: Cherwell District Council

Project: Line Marking

Department: Highways

Date of completion: Summer 2020

Budget: £16K + VAT

Background

Cherwell Council is a local government district in northern Oxfordshire. We were sent a lining drawing for each car park and asked to supply a quote to reline all existing markings.

Why ODS

ODS has many years' experience of delivering lining services to Oxford County Council, Oxford universities and colleges, local hospitals and other organisations. Our experienced and professional staff are trained to New Roads and Streetworks Act standards and regularly undertake operational, technical and safety training to ensure they are able to deliver a first-class service every time.

Challenge

We quoted the works during the winter so it was suggested the works were done during spring/summer. This was to avoid wet time or drying as this would take longer to complete each car park and could mean they were closed for longer.

Solution

We booked the car parks in advance so they could be closed whilst we carried out the work. To help with parking issues the team arrived at 5am so to get a good start and open spaces by 9am. Everything went very smoothly and there were no issues.

Feedback

“Very pleased with the work undertaken to renew linage in several of our car parks. Work carried out was to a high standard, accommodating our requests to ensure that the work undertaken did not interfere with the day to day operation of our car parks.

The price was competitive with other providers within the industry. Being local we knew there would be less chance of not being able to attend site, furthermore any issues would be dealt with in good time. I can confirm that we did not incur any issues, and all work was completed to schedule.”
