Tidying up on awards

Oxford Direct Services, in partnership with Oxford City Council, have won the Team of the Year award from the Keep Britain Tidy organisation.

The award went to the Recycling and Waste team for their commitment and team work which they demonstrated had delivered the very best service possible despite difficult economic times.

Cllr Tom Hayes, Board Member Safer, Greener Environment, said: "The Recycling and Waste Team richly deserve this recognition. They won by showing that they  possess effective team working coupled with clear, experienced, leadership.

"This team has made an outstanding contribution to improving local environmental quality by going above and beyond the normal call of duty. By recycling we can all reduce the pollution caused by waste and help to protect the planet. My thanks and congratulations to them on receiving the Keep Britain Tidy award."

The team received the award at a ceremony at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on 6 February 2019.

And if winning the award wasn't enough, Oxford Direct Services was also a finalist in the Outstanding Service Delivery category for the clean green campaigns.
