Work restarts at Seacourt

Work has restarted on the Seacourt Park and Ride extension.

Oxford City Council and its partner, ODS, took the decision to suspend work on the waterlogged section of Seacourt following heavy rain earlier this year that resulted in flooding. The ground needed to dry out period prior being stabilised before further work could be carried out.

Subsequently the coronavirus lockdown caused further delay, but the ground work at the site has now been restarted, with effect from 20 April. It will be carried out strictly under government guidance for social distancing.

ODS' Head of Construction, Alasdair Dodman, said: “The good weather should see us make excellent progress with the final stages of the dig and the laying of new substrates along with progressing the stalled works to the new terminal building. We hope to see it completed by winter.”
