ODS achieves SafeContractor accreditation 8 years in a row
ODS has once again achieved Alcumus SafeContractor accreditation which means that they enter their 8th year industry certified as a principal contractor, to subcontract, and to carry out general building maintenance and interior refurbishment.
Martin Shields, ODS Head of Health and Safety, extended the scope of the accreditation this year to include the safePQQ accreditation which covers topics including modern slavery, equality, and GDPR.
SafeContractor accreditation gives ODS membership of a community of more than 33,000 contractors. Alcumus is itself a founding member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement Forum (SSIP), which has more than 80,000 suppliers registered to its scheme. This means accreditation raises their profile and boosts their credibility with thousands of potential new customers.
The SSIP contractor accreditation scheme collects and verifies information across health, safety, financial and ethical practices, and more specific areas such as permits to work at height, or hazardous material handling. The accreditation lets their clients know that they live the S in their CARES values, putting safety first in everything they do.
Martin Shields, Head of Health and Safety, ODS, said:
“Congratulations to all involved for their hard work, in particular, the Health and Safety Team for gathering the evidence for the accreditation; it further augments our credentials as a responsible employer that places the highest value on employment, environment, and quality as well as health and safety performance.”
Simon Howick, Managing Director, ODS, said:
“My sincere thanks go to all involved in regaining these accreditations and who supported our Safety Team in developing and gathering the evidence that proves, for the 8th year running that “Doing Good” isn’t just a strapline, it’s who we are and what we do.”
ODS has achieved SafeContractor accreditation as it continues working towards gaining the ISO45001 Health and Safety accreditation – perhaps the clearest signal to internal and external stakeholders of the importance of safety in our business.
